What is the difference between a Foundation and an IYO?
A Foundation program is designed to prepare international students for direct entry to the first year of an undergraduate program. With our Scottish university partners, this is different and the Foundation Program prepares international students for direct entry to the second year of an undergraduate degree program.
The International Year One Program (IYO) is the same as the first year of an undergraduate degree and will prepare international students to go into year two of an undergraduate degree. With our Scottish university partners, the program is called the International Diploma and is the same as studying year two of a Scottish undergraduate degree, this allows students to enter directly into year three of an undergraduate program.
